Artist Statement
Andrea S. Zorrilla Mora is a Puerto Rican children's book illustrator who takes most of her inspiration from her culture and island. With every illustration and story created she tries to represent her people, country, and the struggles those in Puerto Rico face. With a focus on digital media, and a love for traditional mediums, she uses heavy textures and bright colors to bring her ideas to life.
Biography
Andrea S. Zorrilla Mora is a children's book and editorial illustrator based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a B.F.A. in Illustration and a minor in Drawing and will be receiving her M.F.A. from Goldsmiths University of London for Children's Book Literature: Children's Book Illustration. Currently, as a freelance illustrator she has worked with the newspaper "El Nuevo Día" to create imagery for different articles spanning from court cases to celebrity news on the island.
