Today is the Global Day of Action for access to safe and legal abortion. In Argentina, the fight for legalization continues and we demand a debate and urgent concrete action. My body is mine. It’s something so obvious, as basic as understanding that. Unfortunately, it’s still the decision of others what I can and cannot do with it. Patriarchy continues to rule our desire and our own will. Abortion exists and has always existed, it is clandestine and is covered by a cloak of silence, mystery and terror that converts those who carry it out (in the case of remaining alive after inhumane practices, without containment or accompaniment from the state and a health system that protects the physical and emotional integrity of people who must go through this) into criminals who must be judged and stigmatized by society. For how long? How many more will have to die? Do they even listen to us? Because the roar of the pack sounds louder and louder. Here we are, screaming at the top of our lungs: LEGAL, SAFE AND FREE ABORTION! ✊🏻💚
