Artist Statement
Presently, my focus lies in my ongoing oil painting series titled "The Perspective" series, where I delve into dynamic storytelling to challenge viewers' perceptions. Through the perspectives of animals—birds, insects, and more—I offer unconventional glimpses into life. My aim is to enrich the interaction between the viewer and the artwork, inviting them to explore life from fresh and unexpected angles. Ultimately, I aspire to have a deeper understanding of the world that surrounds us through my oil paintings.

Biography
Daniel Ajemian is a first-generation Armenian artist and painter, born and raised in Pasadena, California. Daniel's earliest childhood memories are filled with writing short stories, drawing, and watching films. His fascination with storytelling in film further fueled his artistic aspirations, leading him to work in the camera department of motion pictures from the age of sixteen. Eventually, Daniel pursued formal education at University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts, where he not only immersed myself in the art of storytelling but also delved into the study of Art History as a minor.
During his studies in Art History, Daniel discovered a new outlet in his artistic journey. Learning about the Impressionist artists of the 19th century became an inspiring moment for Daniel, as he discovered their rebellion against traditional artistic norms. Inspired by their pursuit of artistic freedom and innovation, Daniel decided to explore painting myself. While he had dabbled in drawing and painting as a child, it wasn't until 2021 that he started a mentorship under painter Olga Shiller to refine his skills and learn the craft and language of painting.
Today, Daniel continues to live in Pasadena, dedicating majority of his time to oil paintings. Daniel's goal is to blend his formal education of storytelling and create narratives through the medium of oil painting to create dramatic effect.
