Artist Statement

I majored in mass communication in college and video media in graduate school.
I have been engaged in video planning/production for 30 years and have planned/produced c/f, museum exhibition videos, and media shows.
In this process, personal standards for 'seeing' and 'feeling' are formed through the use of various media technologies, along with concerns about composition, screen composition, light, and color
Because the starting point is not art, but humanities/social studies and photography/film, I feel sorry for conveying the message while looking at existing works of art.
Therefore, I thought that I wanted to embody the world I wanted to talk about as a work, and as an implementation method, I developed an expression method called artrium.

Artrium is basically an expression method that simulates nature without using natural materials at all.
After making a basic shape of stones and trees using urethane, each rock cubic creates a stone's facial expression through thousands of strokes.
The difference between the formed angle and the color and texture created by the crack creates the "stone expression," which is the life of the atrium
In other words, rock cubes with their own facial expressions are used to create composition and formations that are "likely to exist but don't actually exist."
Flower cubics using resin express various colors in the form made in this way while containing the reasons for wanting to contain them.
This step is the process of expressing the image that the artist wants to express in color.

It is not just a simulation of nature, but reconstruction of nature with the composition and formative beauty of photography/architecture, 'thinkable' colors and symbols that contain narratives, stories, and philosophical thinking, application of abstraction according to the most sensitive standards, morphological evolution through combination with other art areas, and creation of a space of thought where viewers can each contain their own stories
Making an atrium based on this personal principle
As a major in humanities and sociology, which values reason and thinking on the basis of free thinking of art, I want to create an original work that can differentiate myself from existing art and create an inner sound through rigorous abstraction work.

Biography

Unlike ordinary artists,
artist Hyuns started out as a literature student with a history of winning the novel part in two contests.
Based on this literary talent, he studied mass communication and film media
He built thorough knowledge and experience in humanities/social thinking and composition/design/light.
Since then, based on these work skills, he has built an excellent career in film media for 30 years
