Artist Statement

My work is a collection of personal experiences, the duality of both feminine and masculine energies’, the power of beauty , transformations, and rebirth, The divine essence of womanhood, and the space we take up in the world. My creative process is usually gathered from painful experiences and used as fuel to create beautiful masterpieces. My intention behind a lot of my pieces is to create awareness surrounding mental health and the importance of growing through life challenges. "we cannot heal what we don't feel" is a statement that I always live by.

Biography

Malta Rios is a dedicated mental health advocate with a diverse background in Social Services, Art, Music, and Poetry. Over the course of six years working in social services, Malta has orchestrated dynamic activities for the children in her community, embodying her commitment to fostering joy and healing through creative expression.

A self-sufficient individual from an early age, Malta has recognized the transformative power of art, music, and poetry in the healing process. With an unwavering belief in the therapeutic significance of these mediums, she has made it her mission to integrate them into her work and personal life.

Looking toward the future, Malta is driven by her aspiration to obtain a degree, furthering her expertise and expanding her capacity to facilitate healing through creativity. She is excited to continue her journey of education and personal growth, leveraging her natural talents to empower others on their path to healing and self-discovery.
