Artist Statement
My paintings are an exploration of the multifaceted landscapes of the human experience and an expression of the transformative powers of the Self. I use the figure as a central motif combined with a tapestry of realistic references, gestural abstraction, patterning, landscape elements, florals, and art history references. This amalgamation is an exploration of the self’s transformation, where identity is constructed and deconstructed over time and mirrors the complex dialogue between the conscious and the unconscious mind.
