Artist Statement

Living in Finland, one of the coldest countries in the world, I am uniquely positioned to create art from ice and snow, exploring water in its myriad forms and temperatures. My deep connection to Finnish nature fosters a profound respect for its pure air and unspoiled landscapes. For half of the year, I live barefoot on a wild, rugged island in the Finnish archipelago, immersing myself in photography, fishing, and foraging for berries and mushrooms. During the other six months, I return to the mainland to capture the vibrant hues of autumn and the serene beauty of winter through my lens.

The rich, ever-changing seasons, each with its distinctive colors and unexpected shapes, are a constant source of inspiration for my photography. I find art in everything around me - from the delicate water droplets on my dogs' fur to the intricate patterns of snowflakes.
