Artist Statement

My name is Veronica, but everyone calls me Ronnie. As an artist, I find joy in blending the old with the new, bringing traditional art techniques into the modern era. My current passion lies in cloisonné style paintings, where I use mixed media of wire and resin to create intricate, vibrant pieces that reflect my fascination with detail and texture.

Art has always been my way of navigating the world, especially as someone who was born unilaterally deaf. This hidden disability has shaped my perspective, making me more attuned to the subtleties of human interaction and the often overlooked beauty in our surroundings. Through my work, I aim to convey the delicate balance between visibility and invisibility, inviting viewers to explore the layers of meaning and emotion embedded in each piece.

Experimentation is at the heart of my practice. From textile arts to mixed media, I am constantly exploring new materials and techniques to push the boundaries of what art can be. My studio is a space of continuous discovery, where old traditions are reimagined and given new life.

Creating art is my way of connecting with others, sharing stories, and sparking conversations. Whether through a piece hanging on a gallery wall or a unique item available at my shop, I hope to bring a bit of beauty and thoughtfulness into the lives of those who encounter my work.
